2nd Gen- Melt

(Dorothy's POV)


When I first woke up this morning, the first thing I thought of was you. I got my bangs cut the other day, in hopes you would notice.  A pink skirt, a flower barrette for my hair. Ha, today I'm looking super cute.

Agh, I can't let our eyes meet. I mean... It's not like I'm into love and all that, but....

I do like you.

The weather report lied today, the rain is really pouring down.  I fumble around to try and find my umbrella, and I give a sigh because it won't open.

"I guess I'll have to let you in," You say with a laugh, standing beside me.

You don't laugh too often, but when you did... That was the sound that made me fall in love.

I feel like I'm going to melt under this umbrella. My hand, touching yours, it's trembling. But look, it's so small and dainty above yours, like.... Like a perfect match.

My heart is racing under this half of the umbrella, and as you start to glance over at me, I quickly look away. I start to wonder; what will I do if you move your hand over? My feelings would reach you and then....

No, Dorothy, it's time to stop wishing. I feel like I am going to cry, and yet...

And yet, I'm so happy I could die! It's a wonder steam isn't rising from where I'm stepping, my whole body is filled with this odd, intense burning, and it's a wonder that you can't even notice it.

And now... Now we've reached the bus stop. But I don't want this moment to end. I want to stay here, and walk hand-in-hand with you. I turn to you and say...

"If I go, we may never see each other again!" I cry, embracing you. "I love you, so hold me in your arms right now!"

... But not really. I don't say that, only in my mind do I say that. Instead, all I say is:

"Uh, see you later, then."

And I get on the bus. Yours is coming later, but as the bus drives off, I can't help but melt into my seat, my face so red.
